Johnny Glenn Lassiter, Sr. is a native of Newport News, VA. He grew up in Wesley Grove United Church of Christ under the pastor and leadership of Rev. G. Wesley Rainey, III and Rev. Dr. Isaac McDonald.

In 1981, he gave his life to the Lord and began to do many works around the community. He also occupied his time with singing with local quartet groups, faithfully attending bible study, Sunday School and church services.

Through the years he's have accomplished many goals and achievements.

In 1982 he appeared in magazines and newspapers for his art, architecture and other multiple talents. He's won and received many awards, certificates, recognitions and plaques.

He's favored with such accomplishments as the two-story painting of "Jesus and John the Baptist" at Wesley Grove United Church of Christ, Newport News, VA, window paintings and art for McDonald's Corporation and other graphic designs and paintings in the surrounding Tidewater Area.

He continued his education at Hampton University, studying in the field of Architectural Design.

In 1984, while singing, he met Donna M. Johnson of Portsmouth (Deep Creek), VA. He proposed to her 2 ½ weeks later and be wedded her the following year and now resides in Suffolk, VA.

In 1985, he joined Mt. Sinai RZUA Church, 2716 Moton St., Portsmouth, VA under the leadership of his father-n-law, Pastor Rev. David Johnson, Sr. where he's faithfully played as a Bass Guitar musician since that time.

Being very shy, it was hard for him to see that God would call him in the ministry. But God strengthen, choose, ordained and sent him to preach His Word in 1986. He's worked as President and Vice President on the Men's Department, Pastor's Aide and Inspirational Choir. He's pastored for 2 ½ years at Solomon's Temple RZUA Church, Petersburg, VA. He served as the secretary for the Ministerial Alliance of the Reformed Union Apostolic Churches of America in which he is now the Information Technology Coordinator for the entire body.

His most recent achievement is the design and building of the New Mt. Sinai RZUA Church, 103 Gust Lane, Portsmouth, VA, October 2001 where he's currently a member and Youth Pastor.

Presently, he is employed as a Designer for small watercrafts and carriers at CDI Marine Company in Virginia Beach, VA and doing free-lance work with computer graphic and architectural designs, digital imaging and photography and computer repairs. Also, he's now the father of 3 children, Ebony, Ciara and Johnny, II.

Through all these accomplishments and much, much more, he quotes this scripture:

Philip. 3:8a … I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: …

Philip. 3:12-14 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. [13] Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, [14] I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
